I am screwed. My original loan was $20,000. My current principle is $68,000 and my payback amount is $161,000.
Please help! I don’t even have a job!

  2. good2btheking Says:

@lordblazer Because as long as we have a government for the people, of the people and by the people, we will be slaves to it. We help put into power the powerful and then wonder why we are getting fucked by them every day. We need to take matters in our own hands. Next elections VOTE FOR YOURSELF. Who knows your needs better than yourself, than why elect a stranger to run your affairs. Ebolish the monetary system and lets all be free.

  3. good2btheking Says:

@waverly2468 Wrong. I went because i could afford it and was informed that for a better life i must have a better education. I agree nothing is set in stone but if you put 2 and 2 together, you are not expecting to get 0 and that is the sittuation i find myself in. When the rich can be bailed out for their miscalculations then why shouldnt i. If you see fairness in this than you are just as evil as the student loan companies. I am poorer now than i was before i went to college. Explain that??

  4. lordblazer Says:

yea but getting a degree is the same. There are people with engineering degrees who aren’t finding work right now. I don’t think the type of degree matters at this point. corporations value experience. Internships use to be that thing that gave you that edge, but employers now deem it not enough. I truly do believe this generation is getting fucked over really hard even generation X is getting fucked over. Of course we will be blamed for it too XD. BLaming the victim is normal in america.

  5. lordblazer Says:

though ironically they are going to college yet still joining those ranks. I remember when I was applying for a job at circuit city. IT was just a part time job. They put me through 4 interviews. I have never been put through that many interviews for part time work. Anyway I moved abroad for a bit and went internship hunting. Found an internship had an interview and that was it. Quite literally easier to get an internship than part time work WTF?

  6. lordblazer Says:

or they should look into going to school in CAnada, or an EU country because trust me on this. Its waaaay cheaper than even a state school and there are tons of highly ranked schools in the EU and in Canada that really don’t get advertised in the US. Mainly sooo Americans think there is no other place to get an education.

  7. lordblazer Says:

believe it or not the civil rights movement addressed a whole assortment of issues including this one. It was violently put to an end by the gov’t for a reason.

  8. lordblazer Says:

well believe me education is going to be under attack culturally in the US more than ever before.. I fear for the next generation. Anyway man try looking for work overseas.

  9. lordblazer Says:

that’s smart man. When I was studying in Japan I worked part time as an English tutor, and I ended up helping a friend get his business up and running and that proved to be profittable.

  10. lordblazer Says:

cool but not everyone is aspiring to work blue collared jobs their whole life a BA opens up a lot of doors gives a person a lot of options and not just in America but in the whole world…. Heck wanna work in Korea? You need atleast a Masters. Same for Singapore.

  11. lordblazer Says:

my books cost me 700 dollars per semester.

  12. A2Ricky Says:

Congress is going to fix it LOL… Write them a letter LOL… how lame is that advice. They are the very ones in bed with the banking industry. My advice DON”T GO TO COLLEGE ANYMORE! If you do decide to go to college plan on leaving the country forever. You could also buy a house build up your credit card limit, use the credit cards to pay off the debt. Then declare bankruptcy and be free and clear of that bullshit loan once and for all. Damm I should have my own show not this nit wit.

  13. rcredit Says:

Ok this is what’s going to happen if more students keep getting student loans and can’t pay them back kids will stop going to school and the higher education system will collapse. When kids stop going to college colleges will go broke. Education at public colleges should be free!!!!! If loans are given to college students then it should be intrest free. If this continues there will be a crises I higher Ed and that industry will collapse just like the housing autos banking and wall street.

  14. janedoe1024 Says:

    @pkidro
“thank you suze but congress isn’t gonna? do shit ”

    I agree with you.

  15. janedoe1024 Says:

One problem is that congress – with their old school, crusty old fogies who never HAD to pay 9.0%, 12.00% etc. on a huge student loan, let alone with all the penalties,? etc. for default. They are in the pocket of the powerful, extremely well financed banking lobby. They live in an Ivory Tower. I am almost certain that if someone like Barrack Obama had to finance his education in the system WE NOW deal with, it would be considerably different – for the better no doubt.

  16. dansereske88 Says:

I really don’t get it.. WHY is it so expensive in America, land of hopes and dreams

  17. dubaay Says:

i continue to stay in school so that i don’t have to pay my loans! because I can’t pay.

  18. pkidro Says:

thank you suze but congress isn’t gonna do shit

  19. lordblazer Says:

I really think there needs to be a change in American culture. A strooonnngggg change in it. Anyway man goodluck with your endeavors. I’m international studies and economics, and I plan on starting a company overseas, but will be studying international economics overseas for graduate studies also. I don’t know what future lies in front of America, but I am hoping people change what makes them worth something in society. Obvious your job shouldn’t be what defines you. Kudos! Keep pushing forward!

  20. lordblazer Says:

You have to becareful with choosing a major simply because there is a job at the end of the tunnel. MArkets constantly change, and your personal choices despite what libertarians say shouldn’t be how you account for those changes, but simply put what are you passions. Anyway accounting seems to be yours that’s great. Because incoming freshmen might start studying accounting, and might flood the market for it. Like what happened with IT and Computer Engineering. Passion is #1 :D

  21. lordblazer Says:

I go on the belief that no major is useless. MY father has a degree in History.. He runs 4 different facilities, For Sunny D, and has to make sure that shipments are being made on time within that region. It pays 150k a yr. In the end it comes down to how you prepare for a profession of your choosing. Accounting majors in Unis are trained to get right into the workforce others aren’t but that doesn’t make them useless. simply put you have to be creative also its tough for accountants too

  22. Rockynurse Says:

    @lordblazer

Depends on the route. I am taking a traditional route and unless something majorly bad happens I will be successful. Accounting majors have no problem getting high paying jobs at graduation or progressing up the ladder to very high paying jobs.

A buddy of mine who graduated last year got the highest salary I have ever heard of for the accounting field. 76k + bonus

Usually people start around 55k or so depending on the area.

Some majors are just useless though…

  23. lordblazer Says:

a lot of people going to school states are picking up a lot of debt also.

  24. lordblazer Says:

Cool cuz I’m an economic student XD I’ve interned overseas, and I plan on living and working overseas. The plans will work I have money for the air ticket I can get the job easily and I can kick start my business quite easily since I have the business plan already. the real issue is students need to find a non-traditional route to take in order to become successful!! YOu can’ take the tradition route anymore because it is failing!! the world is different now!!

  25. lordblazer Says:

cool same as Rome since it was a very commercial society. They had similar problems. very poorly educated mass and everything was expensive so people lived in shit conditions in the world’s richest empire!! ROme!! :D
