$40,000 in debt with 4 credit cards, I have great credit and pay on time. Recently cc’s raised interest from 7.9 to 23% because they said too, much debt ratio. If I use consolidation will that affect credit and do they charge and are they just doing what I could do (like search for other credit cards with lower rates?)

I am looking to take out a loan to pay off about $4000.00 in credit card debt. Unfortunately, my credit score is pretty low. How do I find a reliable place to borrow money from? I understand that my interest rate will be higher. I’m just not sure where to begin looking or where to start for that matter. thanks.

Chase filed a law suit against my husband for a delinquent credit card. He never had to go to court but they (the law firm) wanted $300/mt until the card was paid off. We’re still paying on it and it’s a huge budget buster! We only have a few other outstanding/low amount bills. I was wondering if debt consolidation companies would consolidate this Chase bill as well so we can get these people out of our lives!

Also, can a revolving line of credit (it’s also a atm card) be included in a debt consolidation? And can I choose to leave out a loan or specific credit card where I have 0%?

I heard going through one of those debt consolidation companies is just as bad as declaring bankruptcy. Is that true? If not which one is the best to deal with?

Not credit counseling, but debt consolidation loan. Can’t find any good info on the web, so your educated opinion would be helpful. What are credit requirements, home equity requirement, debt service ratio and other factors?

How do you know which program is good and which one is right for you. I heard their is a way to check there beruo report or something, not sure what its called. How can you see the results and reputation of the debt settlement program or debt consolidation program.
